Borneo Joe has been living and traveling throughout Southeast Asia since 1994. He has embarked on a journey or research, introspection and self discovery. Joe is inspired by the rituals and traditions of ancient peoples as well as existing traditional lifestyles. He collects exotic materials and then collaborate with indigenous artisans to create small collection of unique body jewelry.
The jewelry consists on inventive original designs and variations on traditional themes and resurrected ancient forms. A diverse array of influences include Dayak Tribes of Borneo, early empires of China, Tibet, Korea, India, Cambodia, Burma, Thailand, Java, Sumatra, Suluwesi, the Philippines, Japan, Nepal and the Southern & Central Americas. Others Include the island cultures of Oceania, Samoas, Tahiti, the Marquesas, New Guinea, Irian Jaya, and New Zealand.
